Museum of the AVNOJ

The Museum of the Second Session of the AVNOJ was founded in 1953 as a central Yugoslav museum institution of the memorial type. During the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the building in which the session was held was devastated, and the museum’s materials, except for a few objects, were stolen. In September 2002, the Commission for the Preservation of National Monuments declared the AVNOJ House a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina to which the function of the AVNOJ museum should be restored.
